Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided to request the details of the security expenses given to former Prime Minister Imran Khan from the Federal Ministry of Interior. It has also been demanded to reveal the details regarding the number of security personnel deployed at the residence of former Prime Minister and Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.
It should be noted that the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Dr. Nasir Akbar Khan, had claimed in the Senate Standing Committee on Interior on Thursday that 266 personnel are deployed for the security of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who incur expenses of 2 crore rupees per month. According to IG Islamabad, besides FC, Rangers, Islamabad Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and Gilgit Baltistan Police, private security companies are also deployed for the security of the former prime minister.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has sought details from the Ministry of Interior on the claim made by IG Islamabad.PTI vice president and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry have said in a statement that the details released for the propaganda campaign regarding Imran Khan's security expenses are very worrying.
Apparently, no arrangements are being made by the government regarding threats to the security of officials and Imran Khan. According to Fawad Chaudhry, the letter to Tehreek-e-Insaaf to arrange for the security of its chairman is also part of the record. Provide the official details of the security expenses of Imran Khan and 266 officials. Spokesman Islamabad Police was contacted several times to know more details about the situation, but no response has been received so far.
It should be noted that the issue of the security of former Prime Minister Imran Khan's residence is under discussion since the end of his power. In this regard, last week Tehreek-e-Insaf had decided to deploy Punjab Police in Bani Gala, however, Islamabad Police had said that the police of any other province cannot work within the limits of Islamabad without legal permission.
