In the application given by CPPA, it was stated that the production cost of electricity in July was 10 rupees 98 paise per unit while the advance fuel cost was 4 rupees 69 paise per unit while in July 35.17% from water and 12.74% from coal. Electricity was generated, 1.46% from diesel and 6.42% from furnace oil.

Nepra will hear the CPPA petition on August 31 and the hike in electricity prices could result in an additional burden of over Rs 75 billion on consumers.
