The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the issuance of loans to Pakistan under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
On Monday, Pakistan's Finance Minister Miftah Ismail confirmed the issuance of the IMF program in a message on Twitter, saying that "the IMF has approved the revival of our EFF program."
According to the Minister of Finance, "Now we will get $1.17 billion (US dollar) for the seventh and eighth installments."
While congratulating Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the nation, Miftah Ismail said the purpose of the 'difficult decisions' was to 'save Pakistan from bankruptcy.
Earlier, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal also said in a message released on Twitter that the IMF has approved the program for Pakistan.
