After the defeat against Sri Lanka, India's qualification for the final has become very difficult. Playing first, India set Sri Lanka a target of 174 runs to win. Kushal Mendis and Patham Nissanka opened the innings for Sri Lanka.

The Indian team scored 173 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. On behalf of India, captain Rohit Sharma scored 72, Surya Kumar Yadav scored 34 and Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant scored 17 and 17 respectively.
Indian star batsman Virat Kohli was clean bowled by Madhushanka for no runs.
For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madhushanka took three wickets, Chimeera Karunaratne and Dasan Shanaka two wickets each. After the defeat in this match, India's access to the final has become very difficult, while the possibility of the Pakistan-India final has also ended.
