Defeated by Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup, it is difficult for India to reach the final

Sri Lanka defeated India by six wickets in the crucial match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup after a thrilling encounter. In the match played at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, Sri Lanka achieved the target of 174 runs with one ball to spare.

After the defeat against Sri Lanka, India's qualification for the final has become very difficult. Playing first, India set Sri Lanka a target of 174 runs to win. Kushal Mendis and Patham Nissanka opened the innings for Sri Lanka.

Patham Nissanka was caught out after playing an innings of 52 runs. Sri Lanka suffered their second loss when Kierath Aslanka was dismissed for no runs. Kushal Mendes scored 57 runs and was lbw off Yazandra Chahal. Mendes' innings included four fours and three sixes. Bhanuka Rajapaksha scored 25 and Dasan Shanaka scored 33 unbeaten runs.

On behalf of India, Yazandra Chahal took three wickets while Ashwin took one wicket. Earlier in the match being played in Dubai, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Indian team scored 173 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. On behalf of India, captain Rohit Sharma scored 72, Surya Kumar Yadav scored 34 and Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant scored 17 and 17 respectively.

Indian star batsman Virat Kohli was clean bowled by Madhushanka for no runs.

For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madhushanka took three wickets, Chimeera Karunaratne and Dasan Shanaka two wickets each. After the defeat in this match, India's access to the final has become very difficult, while the possibility of the Pakistan-India final has also ended.

For India to reach the final, Pakistan must lose its matches against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka by huge margins. If Pakistan defeats Afghanistan today, India will be out of the event.
