A re-recorded national anthem has been released on the occasion of Pakistan's 75th Independence Day.

This anthem was recorded over a long period of 13 months and this time it has been sung by 155 singers.

The National Anthem of Pakistan was first broadcast on Radio Pakistan on 13 August 1954, with lyrics written by Hafeez Jalandhri and a tune composed by Ahmed Ghulam Ali Chagla.

The special thing about the re-recorded anthem in the year 2022 is that the tune and lyrics of the anthem recorded for the first time 68 years ago have not been changed, nor have the musical instruments been changed, however, it contains all the songs that are now in Pakistan. Singers from all communities and styles of music are accommodated and linguistic, cultural, religious, and gender diversity is given special consideration.

Also, modern technology has been used to record it. To re-record this tune, a steering committee was formed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in June 2021, with former senator Javed as its chairman.

The members of this committee included renowned musicians Rohail Hayat, Arshad Mehmood, Ustad Nafees Ahmed, ISPR Director Production Brigadier Imran Naqvi, and film sector leader Satish Anand.

Javed Jabbar

Javed Jabbar said that when the Tehreek-e-Insaf government ended in April, he submitted his resignation to the new government, and however the new government requested him to continue the project.

He said that because there is no standing orchestra in Pakistan like in other countries of the world, we had to get the help of bands of the Pakistan Army, Air Force, and Navy.

Pakistan's 74th birthday

He says, 'The newly recorded anthem on Pakistan's 74th birthday is also a gift and a great way to celebrate this momentous occasion.'

What things were taken into account in the recording of the song?

Javed Jabbar, detailing the steps involved in re-recording the anthem, said that all 155 singers were rehearsed and assisted in preparation before the recording.
'Special care was also taken to play the tune exactly and with the help of the same instruments as it was composed by Ahmed Ghulam Ali Chhagla and the pronunciation of the lyrics was also taken into consideration.'
Modern technology was used to record the anthem, which helped in mixing multiple tracks after recording them.
Apart from this, a choir of 30 singers was also trained from the National Academy of Performing Arts and they too were part of this anthem.
