Arrest warrant issued for 12 PML-N leaders for unrest in Punjab Assembly

A local court in Lahore has issued arrest warrants for 12 leaders of the Muslim League-N in the rioting case in the Punjab Assembly.
On Friday, the police filed an application in the Judicial Magistrate's court seeking arrest warrants for the Muslim League leaders.
Judicial Magistrate Mudassir Hayat has issued the order at the request of Qila Gujar Singh police station.
Among the leaders whose arrest warrants have been issued are Rana Mashhood, Attaullah Tarar, Sardar Awais Leghari, Mirza Javed, Saiful Mulk Khokhar, Khizr Hayat Khagah, Raja Sagheer, Abdul Rauf, Pir Ashraf, Bilal Tarar and Rana Manan.
The police had filed an application in the local court that a case has been registered against the accused but they are not joining the investigation, so their arrest is inevitable.'
It should be noted that there was a riot in the Punjab Assembly during the election process of the Chief Minister in April this year, in which the then Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari was also subjected to torture.
At that time, the police had registered a case of rioting inside the assembly hall, but at that time, Tehreek-e-Insaaf and Q-League members of the assembly were also named in this case.
Later, PTI and Q-League also submitted applications in the police station that their members were tortured. After the change of government, now the police have started implementing the requests of Tehreek-e-Insaf and Q-League.
Earlier, in the same case under the PML-N government, Tehreek-e-Insaaf leaders kept appearing in the court and they had also granted interim bail, but now the police have declared them 'innocent'.
